What people are saying about “Humbert and the Bully Frog”:
The story of "Humbert and the Bully Frog" is REALLY good. I loved the pictures and the facts I learned about bullying. The lesson I learned, about using courage and brains, will help me with the bully in my school. I really liked the pictures of the real Great Swamp. It was a really cool book! - Jack K. (10 years old)
My son was super impressed by “Humbert and the Bully Frog”. He was was recently bullied, and had in turn bullied another child (along with that bully), hoping he would no longer be bullied himself. They both got in trouble and it was big lesson learned for my son. Along with his Social Skills therapist, my son learned to stand up for the other children against the bully, instead of joining him. The message of the book, to use quick wit and courage, really resonated with my son and helped to solidify his new understanding of “rising above”. Kindness always wins the day! We are going to buy this book as a gift for his Social Skills therapist for her group classes; she will adore it and get much use of it with the group! Love the Great Swamp pics and information, what a nice treat! - Pam K
What a wonderful read it was. You tackled a very tough subject with such subtlety and class. This book must be a mandatory read in the lower grades. There is so much a teacher can do with it. Make the students do a compare and contrast essay, or an alternative ending to spark their imagination, and so much more! — Preeti G.
Loved the book - including the little Great Swamp tutorial at the end! I was not expecting to learn anything from a children's book! Congrats. — Ron G.
The text and illustrations are magnificent! — Jayne M.
The story is clever, yet charming, simple, yet powerful. You [Carol] and Doris did an incredible job of handling complicated subject matter. It’s so important to young minds to be able to identify behavior in others, process how it makes them feel, and then show them how to respond. The adorable rhymes and gorgeous illustrations take away the scariness that is really there in those situations. The whole thing is brilliant!
The follow up teaching points and the information on the Great Swamp was especially interesting. It was fun to see the photo of you [Carol] and Doriskayaking. All in all, it’s your best book to date!! It’s perfect! Bravo! — Sharon Grelsamer

What people are saying about “Swan Pond”:
“Swan Pond" book arrived ... I love it! It follows the line of a Shel Silverstein book I read to the kids of which they loved. But you made a big twist at the end. I love the just pictures portion that really engages the kids more ...
Read it to three kids while in the bathtub. By the end of the book all three of them were on the edge and shouting out what was going on in the pictures. It was a lot of fun. Great job! And the art work is amazing!!! — Betty Spellman
"Swan Pond" just 'quacked' me up! It's a fun story with a great message. The colorful, hysterical illustrations are eye-catching. Both Daffodil books are now my go-to gifts for baby showers and children's birthdays. - Rose Z. Aglieco.

What people are saying about “Slippery Soap!”:
My 2-year old daughter and I read "Slippery Soap!" at least twice a day and we just purchased "Swan Pond" at the Pawling farmers market! Carol and Doris are the nicest and my daughter loves them!" - Courtney M.
‘Slippery Soap!’ is delightful! The rhyming is well done and the illustrations are whimsical and so much fun. It's such an upbeat book and I love how the whole family (including the dog!) is involved in the soap escapade. … You’ve thought of everything with the illustrations— I love looking at each member of the family for you've infused certain looks and poses for each one. I love how it is printed and made in America, too. The paperback cover is lightweight but very sturdy for kids and the pages and colors look great! … What a book to bring giggles to kids! I'm looking forward to your next one! - Patricia C.
John A. told us that whenever he finishes the book, his 3-year old daughter insists on going back to the page with the sister and her bubbly shoes. She points to the shoes and says, ‘What happened to shoes?’ ... Then, a month later he said that the other day they sat down to read it and she stopped him before he even started, telling him, ‘I read to you, Daddy.’ Then she proceeded to ‘read’ the whole story to him! He was shocked she knew (remembered?) all the words! – Daffodil Press
My Daughters, age 6 and 7, just finished their first reading of "Slippery Soap" and it was a huge hit! They laughed at the soap's antics and loved the beautiful illustrations. Every house needs a copy! - Megan C.
Love the site. ... I hope people buy the adorable book, it is hilarious to the last word. - Preeti G.

My 5-year old daughter was lucky enough to receive ‘Slippery Soap!’ as a preschool graduation gift on Monday. It is now Thursday and she and I (and her 3 year old brother) have read it so many times, she has it almost memorized! Wonderful job to Doris and Carol!
